my story
Pedro Gomez is a Seattle based consultant and economic development professional focused on strengthening institutions, expanding economic opportunity, and supporting sustainable, community centered growth. His work is informed by lived experience and years inside public service, translating policy into action and accountability.
“Lo que es para ti, nadie te lo puede quitar.”
What is meant for you, no one can take away.
Pedro heard these words from his mother throughout his childhood. For her, they were a reminder to endure. For him, they became a compass, an early understanding that while systems can delay opportunity, they cannot erase purpose.
Pedro immigrated from Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico as a child and grew up undocumented in the United States. By the age of five, he was working in the fields alongside his parents, waking before sunrise and learning early that hard work alone does not guarantee choice. Those early mornings shaped his understanding of life without status, not as a political concept, but as a daily reality defined by limited options and constant calculation.

That awareness pushed him toward leadership. As a teenager in Walla Walla, Washington, Pedro organized within his community, launching an after school program at the labor camp where his family lived. He later helped mobilize thousands of students, parents, and workers in marches demanding dignity and equal rights. At eighteen, he stepped forward to help give voice to a community long excluded from civic decision making.
In 2013, Pedro founded the Washington Latino Voters Alliance to expand civic participation and political literacy among Latinos across the state. That same year, he began his career in public service, joining the Mayor of Seattle’s administration. Over the next decade, his work spanned government, economic development, community engagement, and public private partnerships, where he advised leaders, helped shape policy, and gained a clear understanding of how power operates in practice.
In 2024, Pedro launched Renace Consulting, bringing together lived experience, public sector leadership, and entrepreneurial discipline to advise organizations, entrepreneurs, and institutions navigating growth, influence, and accountability.
Pedro’s work is grounded in a simple belief: access comes with responsibility. Once you understand the system, you have an obligation to use it well and to widen the door behind you.
